David H. Crean, Ph.D is the Managing General Partner at Cardiff Advisory. Previously, Dr. Crean served as Managing Director for Objective Capital Partners, a middle market investment banking firm located in southern California, where he led the firm’s Mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnering, valuations and capital financing transactions with life science and healthcare companies. Dr. Crean has in excess of 25 years of transactional experience within strategic biopharma, private equity, and venture capital. Dr. Crean holds FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses and is a FINRA Registered Investment Banking Representative through BA Securities, LLC.

In parallel to his investment banking and strategic advisory leadership for Cardiff Advisory, Dr. Crean currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Objective Capital's Investment Banking services, and is in leading roles on the Boards of Directors for Histogen, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSTO), Phoenix Molecular Designs, BIOCOM California, and the California Life Sciences Association (CLSA) as Chairman of Development and a member of the Executive Committee. He is also an active life sciences investor where he serves as Managing Director for Equitos, Venture Partner for Suncoast Venture Capital, and a Limited Partner with Mesa Verde Venture Partners.

For his outstanding advisory work, Dr. Crean was recognized by San Diego Business Journal for SD500 Most Influential Business Leaders in 2019-2021, M&A Advisors for the 2019 Investment Banker of the Year, San Diego Business Journal’s 2018 Healthcare Hero, 2017 Thought Leader of the Year and 2017 Advisor of the Year Awards.

Dr. Crean is also active in the non-profit sector where he serves as Chairman of the Board for the Alzheimer’s Association of San Diego/ Imperial Counties, CEO's Against Cancer for the American Cancer Society, and Student Success Programs of the Charter School of San Diego.

Dr. Crean holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree with a finance concentration from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Management. Additionally, he holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree in Biophysics and a Masters of Science (MS) Degree in Oncology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Crean also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Biology/ Pre-Med from Canisius College.

Charla Triplett is the President of Catalyze focused on Research Design and Strategy with a focus on Medical Device and Digital Health.

She spent several years in business development for an interactive digital marketing agency, working with industry professionals from the high tech, biomedical and aerospace industries. Prior to these Business Development roles, Charla spent over 15 years of her career focused on connecting industry and academia in the area of Biomedical Engineering, including founding and running a non-profit with this mission, working with over 60 Universities nationwide. She has actively served on the OSU College of Engineering board for Chem, Bio and Environmental Engineering for the past 10 years. Ms. Triplett completed her M.S. in Bioengineering at OSU in 1999.

Alexander Johns is Chairmain of Arete Strategies, LLC, an advisory firm providing market research, analytics, and strategic input on business development, product development, marketing, and commercialization for biopharmaceutical companies. Mr. Johns has in excess of 30 years of experience in the life sciences and healthcare industries working with C-Suite executives and Boards of Directors in defining, refining, and executing strategies for growth and exit. Mr. Johns earned his BS and MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.
